FAQ — The Blast texting line
How many messages will I receive?
This number may fluctuate as news develops at the Capitol. The goal of this texting line is to be useful. Right now, the plan is for two-to-three messages a week, with more during peak times. We will be adjusting in real-time to subscriber feedback.
Can I text back?
Yes! Blast lead writer Renzo Downey will receive your replies. You can send him questions, news tips and feedback.
Can other subscribers see my texts?
No, this is not a group chat. Your messages will go directly to Renzo Downey and will not be seen by other subscribers.
How do I cancel?
You can text STOP at any time to end all text messages.
How is my data used?
The Texas Tribune uses Subtext to deliver text messages. Subtext does not sell user data. Your phone number will be used for Texas Tribune messaging and not be shared. You can opt out any time by texting STOP.
